I was wondering about your tomatoes - I just picked a bowl of cherry tomatoes last night from the last 3 plants left in the garden -- pulled the rest of the garden up last week - I agree, it sure seems late to be harvesting 'maters, but man, I'll take it! Cheers! Amanda in Port Orchard

I love Tutter's creativity! When Cate was little she started calling all of us by noises. I say noises because they are not really names. I am "Arnt", Sam is "Dee" and so on. She is 7 and still calls us by these names/noises. Go figure...You might be Ojo for awhile. BTW...I love Bear in the Big Blue House...Emily used to watch it when she was little. I didn't know it was on anymore.

What an awesome project.. and I love those fabrics...

Dear Seattle Friend of the Tomato--
What a surprise that the season ends so early in Seattle! But I loved your words about our favorite fruit. Yes, the season seemed much shorter than last year. Only Weather-caused, do you think? Probably.
Here in Staten Island, I'm hoping to get at least another month of growing and ripening --and eating. This year I started a Tomato Arbor --the vines grow up to 8 feet tall, and then are trained across a "ceiling" of stakes. Seems to be working well. (Last year some of my vines grew 16 feet tall; I was very proud of my Great Tomato Achievement, but they WERE very hard to reach; hence the 8-foot arbor. From my tomato experiments I calculated that every extra foot of growth produces about 27 more Cherry Tomatoes --the kind that I observed.)
Any tips about Heirlooms? I haven't really entered that world.

What a great post! congrats on 500 sales, that is an amazing accomplishment! I totally know what you mean, it is crazy the amount of work you try to cram into a naptime! Last tiem i had 2 solid hours of work (which is a lot of time!) I made a diaper bag since I had one child being baby sat!
good luck with preschool, hopefully things works out well for you!
